1. Keep your personal details private. Avoid giving your phone number, email address, home address or information about your workplace or place of study.
2. Be wary about meeting someone off-line if you do not already know them. If you decide that you do want to arrange a meeting, always meet in a public place and take a friend along.
3. Use the 'ignore' button. This will prevent
you receiving any unwanted messages from a specific person
4. Be cautious when opening files. Only open files
and attachments from people you know - otherwise you risk getting a virus
or receiving unwanted material.
5. Store a list of your favourite chatrooms.
On the Chat homepage go to "Favourite Rooms" and click the Edit button.
6. Follow the Yahoo! Chat Guidelines.
