España, (www.yahoo.es), an online directory specifically developed for Internet users in Spain. Yahoo! España features more than 6,000 Spanish sites as well as Spanish news, business and finance, weather, sports, society, health and cultural information. It is the 15th site in Yahoo!’s global network of world properties and the 8th site in Europe.

Currently around 2 million adults in Spain have Internet access. By the year 2000 Spanish Internet users are expected to number 5.75 million (EGM 1998) and Yahoo! will address this growth by providing Spain with its own Yahoo! Web guide. In addition to meeting the needs of Internet users in Spain, Yahoo! España appeals to Internet users internationally who have a special interest in Spain.

A search of the directory automatically brings up the most relevant Spanish sites first, followed by the most appropriate of the Web sites available through Yahoo! worldwide. Finanzas for news on European financials centres as well as the Spanish stock exchanges from Fininfo España; Yahoo! Tiempo, for the latest forecasts and satellite images from WNI; Yahoo! Deportes for the most up-to-date national and international sports and Yahoo! Noticias with daily news for Spain and worldwide.
