LONDON, - July 20, 1998 - Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO), the world’s leading Internet media company, has announced the appointments of Amanda-Jane Daniels and Sanjeev Gandhi to co-ordinate Yahoo!’s commercial strategy in Europe, with emphasis on e-commerce and distribution. Amanda-Jane and Sanjeev will work closely with Fabiola Arredondo, Managing Director, Europe, to create a focused approach towards assisting partners to extract maximum online revenues, and distribution of the product.

Amanda-Jane joined Yahoo! from BBC Worldwide, where she was Head of Sales for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India and was responsible for all programme licensing, co-production and publishing activity across the region. Amanda-Jane also launched the first BBC branded television slots and was instrumental in developing local joint venture channels.

Sanjeev joined Yahoo! from BBC Worldwide, where he was General Manager of BBC Prime, and previously Strategic Development Manager for Worldwide Television. He was responsible for developing new commercial cable and satellite channels initially in the UK, and later in Latin America and Europe - the former in partnership with Flextech Television, and the latter as part of a global joint venture to launch factual channels with the Discovery Channel. Prior to the BBC, Sanjeev spent seven years as a consultant with the Global Telecoms Practice at Coopers & Lybrand.
