LONDON 12 February 1999 - Yahoo! UK & Ireland, ranked the most popular Web guide in the UK, today announced the appointment of Ralph Averbuch, formerly Senior Producer, to the new post of UK & Ireland Business Development Manager.

Ralph Averbuch was the first Yahoo! employee in the UK and played a role in the launch of the original service which took place in September 1996. Now he moves from responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and development of site services to concentrate on the business development area.

Ralph will be developing e-commerce, distribution and content relationships with media and retail organisations across the British Isles. Commenting on the move he said: "Yahoo! has a great story to tell potential e-commerce and distribution partners. I want to take that story to the industry and seek relationships which offer value to everyone".

Other members of the Business Development team in Europe include Steve Boom, European Director and Yann Motte, Content Manager, Sanjeev Gandhi, Director, Distribution and Amanda-Jane Daniels, Director, E- Commerce.
