Yahoo! Europe and diAx Join Forces to Provide Range of Internet Services in Switzerland

London, September 18 2000 - Yahoo! Europe and diAx, a major Swiss communications company, today announced that they have signed an agreement to make a range of Yahoo! content and services accessible via the diAx WAP and Web portals.

Mobile customers accessing the diAx e-motion will have access to Yahoo!'s comprehensive range of WAP services in English, French, German and Italian. This includes Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Calendar, Yahoo! Address Book, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Weather, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Sport, Yahoo! Mobile Messenger, Yahoo! Directory, Yahoo! Search, Yahoo! TV Listing, Yahoo! Bookmarks, Yahoo! Worldwide and preconfigured My Yahoo!. Yahoo! Stock Quotes, Yahoo! Weather and Yahoo! Horoscope Alerts will be available for mobile devices via SMS. In addition, a co-branded Yahoo! Messenger will be featured on the diAx dplanet portal. It is anticipated that these services will be available before the end of 2000.

The agreement with diAx is a further development in the Yahoo! Everywhere initiative which delivers Yahoo! services formatted for both fixed and wireless connections via PCs, mobile telephones, personal digital devices and digital TVs connected to the Web. Yahoo! continues to prioritise this strategy and has aggressively pursued distribution deals with both handset manufacturers and mobile network operators, including, BT's Genie (UK), D2 (Germany), TIM (Italy), Telefónica Móviles (Spain), Virgin Mobile (UK), Radiolinja (Finland), Telenor (Norway), Cosmote (Greece), Siemens and Trium.
