Amsterdam, 2 February 2001 - Yahoo! Europe, which provides commerce, communication and media services through eight local Yahoo! sites, today announces that it has opened sales offices in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Zurich, Switzerland.

The Yahoo! sales offices will offer Dutch and Swiss clients a range of marketing services, enabling them to target users across the Yahoo! network. They will also help European and global clients market to Dutch and Swiss users as part of a European or global programme. Yahoo! will offer a full range of integrated marketing services.

Yahoo! users in Holland currently number over 1.5 million and generate over 160 million page views to the Yahoo! network with Swiss users numbering over 800,000 and generating over 94 million page views to the network¹ .

Forrester Research estimates the Dutch on-line advertising market value to be worth US/ million in 2000 (Europe estimated at / million) with a predicted rise to US/ million by the end of 2001 (Europe /,078 million) and /m at end 2002 (Europe, /,792 million)² . Online marketing is estimated at 0.6% percent of traditional advertising spending in 2000, rising to 1.0 % in 2001 and 1.5% in 2002³ .

Estimates for the Swiss on-line advertising market value show a value of US/m in 2000 (Europe estimated at /m) with a predicted rise to US/m by the end of 2001 (Europe /,078m) and /m at end 2002 (Europe, /,792m)⁴ . Online marketing is estimated at 0.4% percent of traditional advertising spending in 2000, rising to 0.7% in 2001 and 1.4% in 2002⁵.
