We've had fun discovering those sites that make Yahoo! UK & Ireland one of the best places to find UK or Irish sites, so we thought we'd share a few with you. If you have any suggestions, please send us a note about them. Also send any general thoughts or comments about Picks of the Week or even suggest sites you'd like us to consider for the next issue. Yesterday, March 31st, was a glorious day. Today at Picks Central, we've woken up to a brand new month, and nothing at all out of the ordinary is happening on the World Wide Web. We bring you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. We take our surfing very seriously.
Take Kevin Keegan for example. He has certainly been in the news lately. Sky Sports have an exclusive report that he's going to take a third managerial role with FC Plavi in Sweden. We can confirm that this is 100% true.
And then there's that alligator... this one's been featured all over the press... Beauty Spot Lake Closed After Alligator Sighting, from our friends at PA News. The Council leader insists this is no joke and they're taking the sightings very seriously. Rightly so too. Why would anyone make up a story like that?
Remember San Serriffe? The Guardian bring us a report from the fascinating island paradise that is celebrating its 22nd anniversary today, now a vibrant nation with a visionary leader and an interesting footballing record at Wembley.
Don't you just love animal stories? These three tales have made us go "awwwwww". It's amazing what animals can get up to. The Times has given us its heartwarming tale of Brutus, the performing seal, who turns up every year to perform on the beaches of East Anglia. Meanwhile, The BBC Sci/Tech section is reporting the peaceful unity of co-existing red and grey squirrels near Stormant Castle, where the Northern Irish Peace Talks continue. And finally, This Is London report on a thriving community of poison-resistant mice swamping the capital. Nothing unusual there, I'm sure you'll agree.
We're fascinated by these stories, yet some people reckon they could be jokes... Crazy, huh? But if you insist on being a sceptic, April Fools on the Net is a page dedicated to outlining the best in pranks, jokes and parody on the Internet. But we don't go in for that kind of thing here.
And finally, we mustn't forget our US cousins at Yahoo! with their Oddly Enough section, dedicated to bringing you the best of the weirdest, wildest, or just downright peculiar headlines from around the globe. Always genuine of course.
Here at Picks Central, we still insist: it's just an ordinary day.
