Dublinia
This site is dedicated to the exhibition portraying life in medieval Dublin from the coming of the Anglo-Normans in 1170 to the closure of the
monasteries and the Reformation circa 1540. The actual exhibition is situated beside Christchurch Cathedral, South of the River Liffey.
You'll get a taste of what's on offer there with sections on education facilities, the annual Dublin Essay Competition
(closing date is 30th April 2002) and useful historical links. So, if you're a fan of the place also known as Átha Cliath, Dublinn

Black Isle Brewery
You only need know two things about this site. It is nicely designed. It is all about
beer
. Nuff said. The brewery itself
is in Munlochy near Inverness, and there's a handy map if you want to make a pilgrimage. Still (ahem) thirsty for knowledge?
The beer guide has revelatory facts like, "In the past, expectant mothers were able to receive stout on prescription. This would
provide valuable vitamins and iron to both the happy mother and the unborn child." The 'tasting notes' are great fun too. The Black
Isle Goldeneye Organic Pale Ale is described as having a, "Bitter roasted malt aroma, packed with hedgerow fruit and hops." Bottoms
up!

Masters of Darkness
From dark drinks to dark dudes. If you followed the accompanying series on Channel Four recently, you might already know a thing or two about
Rasputin,
Aleister Crowley,
the Marquis de Sade,
and Dr. John Dee.
If you're curious about who these men really were, and where their collective reputation for sexual debauchery and questionable
magical practices came from, then this site is an excellent starting point. Each of the Masters has his own biography, with plenty of historical
data and useful links. Of course, we at Picks Central were most interested in the cool interactive game called 'Ask Fate'. Play your hand if you're feeling brave!

Cat Hospital starring Frank the Cat
Altgether now - ahhhhhh! Frank the Cat has become something of an Internet celebrity since the folks at cathospital.co.uk
decided to show his recovery from a pelvic injury via Webcam. If you're a kitty lover and the type of person who doesn't find
it odd to be watching Frank recover live from his home in Cambridge, then this will be a dream come true for you. Be warned, however.
Excessive exposure to this cute and heroic furball can cause sudden outbursts of girly weeping. Now, where did we put those tissues?
