Pop Idol
Ever fancied yourself as the next Britney Spears or Robbie Williams? Certainly the folks here at Picks Central have been known to indulge in a showertime singalong to our favourite pop heroes. But the real thing is a whole different prospect, as the candidates on Pop Idol will be finding out over the coming weeks. ITV's follow up to the hugely successful Popstars looks set to unleash a new star onto the music scene, and it's up to the viewing public to decide who makes the grade. As Homer Simpson says, 40% of all people know that statistics can be used to prove anything, but the figures on this site sure make alarming reading. Vehicle theft accounts for nearly 25% of all recorded crime in the UK and costs an estimated £3 billion a year. This Government initiative aims to reduce car crime in the UK by advising on how to, "Keep your vehicle safe, secure, and most importantly, yours." Test your vehicle security nous on the interactive car and try to outwit the criminals. Everybody needs a rant now and then, even the mild-mannered Picks folk. How to Complain offers consumer advice and information, and an online facility for complaining directly to a number of UK organisations. Let's face it, how can a company improve its service if it doesn't know where it's going wrong? And all that pent up frustration might turn you into a premature Victor Meldrew if you're not careful. The online version of this popular Irish magazine is great for up to date business and economy news from all over the world. Along with the current affairs, there's an events diary, small business resource centre, feature articles, services directory, and plenty more useful stuff for all those involved in the business sphere. What better place to develop your entrepreneurial skills? Quiet at the back! Reliving school days might be the stuff of nightmares for some, but who can honestly say they don't miss school discos? This club night has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 1999, and its catchment area has grown significantly too. But even a note from mum won't excuse you from the strict uniform dress code - if you ain't dressed up, you ain't getting in. |
