Brum
We need a hero at Picks Central. Someone to help out when things get busy. Well, look no further - Brum is here to save the day. The popular children's TV star has a superb site full of flashy graphics and fun features. Find the spot you'd like to explore on the map of the Big City, click, and you're away. If you haven't seen the show, it goes something like this: Brum whizzes through the Big Town, looking out for baddies Mr. Brillo, Visiting Man, and Scruffy, who are always up to no good. If you check out the Brum site, you might just get hooked - fun for all the family, as the saying goes. Dr. Toast's Amazing World of Toast Got a burning question? Well, ask Dr Toast. This tasty site offers all the enjoyment that toast-lovers could want, including a 'Ask Dr Toast' problem page with some very witty (and bizarre) toast-tips. There's also the fantastic 'Toast Haiku' and a load of links for those seeking perfection in their toasted bread products. Our favourite is the recipes section - with Garlic Toast being the current weapon of choice. If everyone grabs a slice of the action, this could well become the toast of the Web. Still peckish? Well, if you're familiar with that feeling of desperate hunger and longing caused by long road-trips, then you'll no doubt be familiar with the products contained herein. Ginsters is a name synonymous with the great Cornish pasty and if you're a fan, this site might just cause tummy rumbles. The site has a funky design and some fun features including a collection of very odd postcards and, best of all, webcams of Cornish landmarks. So now you can heat up your pasty, pull up a chair, and take a peek at the Eden Project to your heart's content. Calling all students. This informative site has a no-nonsense approach to that most endearing of entertainment lexicons - student radio. Taking a newsy approach, the site offers details of the Student Radio Awards, events, and has further information and help for those wishing to pursue their dream radio career. The links section is particularly good and the A to Zeds don't stop there - there's also a useful guide to the often mystical jargon involved in radio speak. Meeja darlings will love it. This rather charming site has the look and feel of a cricket field in summer, which is just what we need at Picks Central as the autumn months set in. The 'Days Out' bit is particularly useful with information on everything from angling to shopping. A few photographs might be nice, to show prospective visitors what they're getting, but other than that the Thames and Chilterns Country site has plenty to offer if you're planning on heading over there. |
