CorkWeddings.com
So you're getting married in a few months time, right, but aside from knowing which part of the world you want to tie the knot in (and the identity of the lucky future spouse) you don't have anything sorted out yet - the groom's suit, flowers, a honeymoon, even a location. Well, if the part of the world in question is Cork, you're in luck. This site, courtesy of seven transition year students in Midleton CBS (Christian Brothers School, Catholic education fans!) has information on all sorts of local businesses, as well as neat introduction to the board of budding dotcom tycoons. If you're getting married somewhere else, you're on your own! Welsh Genealogy Photography Requests What if you've got Welsh ancestry, but you don't live near enough to the Principality to track down the town your family comes from? If you need some photos or census checks, and no-one else can help, maybe you can call... Rosemary Griffiths. She'll zoom round South Wales on your behalf, snapping your predecessors' home town, the house they lived in, or the graveyard they're not living in, and send you the pix by post or email. Similar delightful services can be found in North Wales with Wales Search. There's lovely. Are you a phone-obsessed female with a need to make mischief and perpetrate gossip by modem or by mobile? If so, this'll be right up your warren. Here, Rabbit Girls (oddly familiar name, anyone?) can bitch about celebs, catch up on news from that business we call show, and enjoy, "Rate 'n Slate - awards without the ceremony", and the mandatory comedy astrology page. Most mischievous of all, however, are the 'Text Flirts' who are waiting to torment your friends - they'll receive the joy of text from Mr Perfect, a typical bloke, or the office pest. Beware the whopping call charge on this, "Free SMS alerts" service, though. Looking for career advice or job application tips? Aged between thirteen and eighteen, whether studying at school or college, working, or training? Future Steps, the careers service providers for the Cleveland area of Teeside, have put together a guide to courses, case studies, information about job applications, and the advisory services of Chris, their online careers guru. There's information here about the services the company provide locally, but most of the goodies apply to teens all over the UK. Nostalgic for the far future of your youth? You'll be delighted to hear that Colonel Dan Dare, Eagle frontman and professional Treen-botherer, is back in his own animated TV series, accompanied by his chums Digby and Peabody, and still facing his old nemesis, the Tefal-man resembling Mekon. Treats to enjoy while you're waiting for the show include a trailer, an introduction to the characters, and goodies that allow Dan to save the Earth and your screen at the same time. It's good to have you back, Dan, eyebrows or not. |
