At your wit's end trying to find something for your little Yahooligans to do instead of breaking things around the house during the school holidays? Fear not - Picks Central has ideas aplenty to keep the scamps occupied.
Fruit-tella offers games, jokes, and other fun stuff for younger kids. We especially liked the explanation of exactly how they make their juicy sweeties, and the woeful jokes - "Who's the fruitiest film star in the world? Brad Pith!". Allegedly.
If the prospect of sugar-high ankle biters doesn't appeal, you might prefer to point them at Ladybird, where they will find a new bedtime story every day, pictures for colouring in, educational games and competitions, and the Richard and Judy of the children's book world, Topsy and Tim.
If you're determined to tear them away from the computer screen (shame on you!), Crealy Park in Exeter might be worth a visit. They've got farm animals for petting, a big indoor playground, and kid's rides, as well as go-karting and paintballing for the older ones. That should get rid of some of that manic energy. The site also offers the kid's games, park tour, and news that you'd expect.
Looking for a reading book or educational and fun links for older kids? Schoolsnet have daily links, book reviews, and detailed listings of British schools and universities, telling you everything from A Level results to quality of school dinners.
If these suggestions don't keep the moppets from running amok, just run a bath, pour yourself a soothing drinkie - perhaps the experts at The Cocktail Page can suggest something you can make using the dregs left at the back of the drinks cabinet - and listen to the sound of smashing crockery. At least they'll be back at school soon.
