Dr. Fetid's Wizards of the Sonic We like Dr. Fetid. His site is a simple concept, highlighting weird, obscure, or unusual music recordings, often in the form of unexpected cover versions, or celebrities moonlighting as pop stars. Sometimes he links to external sources, sometimes he has files on his site to download, but Dr. Fetid manages to keep us entertained with his witty written style, and an extensive archive means you can look back and listen to all manner of weird and wonderful offerings. It started badly for England, then it got better, than it got unbearable again. Euro 2000 itself was a huge success in terms of the quality of football, however the quality of the England team was rather dubious to say the least. Here's a site though where you can take your frustrations out on the England squad. Choose from a number of players and put them in the gimp tank where you can electrocute them, burst them or, well... take a look for yourself. But there's more... a number of entertaining and amusing cartoons to view as well as games to play, and it's all very silly but good old fashioned fun. When it comes to great design, this site shows how it's done. The new music channel is available on digital television and has a great presence on the web, with its flash and unique design. The site is split into a number of sections. The MTV Info part is where you can find out a little more about the channel and download screensavers. The Playlist/Schedule section includes features and programming details. The Community section allows users to provide their feedback on the channel, and finally, the MTV Creation section is like a large database of artist information where you can create your very own schedule. Something a little more cerebral now. This site gives you the opportunity to do crossword puzzles online, some for fun, others for cash prizes. There's a number of themed ones to choose from, or you can even create your own, then download them onto the site for the whole world to ponder over. But there's more. In these days of e-commerce, you can even buy stuff like mugs and books from the site. The puzzles themselves are small Shockwave applets, and are very easy to navigate and use, so your puzzling experience should be good fun. Not created by a professional travel company, nor the slickest looking site on the web, but this is more a labour of love, and all the better for it. What began as a simple newsletter, has now developed into a full site. It's intended to be fun but still informative, and contains a number of sections to peruse. You can send in your questions and get some handy advice about where to stay in the UK, there's features and articles on different locations in the country, as well as plenty of pics and links to keep you occupied.
