Mark Williams may be best known for his Fast Show appearance (which is nice...), but he's recently tied up with Jack Docherty, Milton Jones and others to star in Sky One's The Strangerers, created by Rob Grant. What the show is all about is difficult to ascertain from the site, even though it's all rather slickly presented. Is it a funny show? Who knows? By the looks of things, the Strangerers have their own language, using made up words like 'bunkipoop' and 'transfibulizer'. There's some wallpapers and desktop icons to download, and frankly, we haven't stopped laughing our heads off here at Picks Central... Okay, we also promise to use less sarcasm in the future. More flash wizardry with our next choice, the intriguingly titled SiSSYFiGHT 2000 No, it's not what you think it is, it's actually "the most ultimate and humiliating schoolyard popularity battle". Once you've downloaded the shockwave game - it's quite a hefty one, but worth the wait if you're on a slow connection - you join a playground with up to 5 other 'girls' and the idea is to attack and ruin the other girls' self-esteem. The girl who is the last left standing wins. You can scratch your chosen opponent, cower away, tattle everyone or just lick your lolly. Sound peculiar? It is, but it's also strangely compelling... It's Oscars weekend, and we've foolishly neglected to do a splendidly witty themed Oscars Picks of the Week. The statuettes were found in a rubbish bin, let's hope the show doesn't go the same way. FilmUnlimited have their special Oscars 2000 section which includes news, links to the various film homepages, interviews and their witty and acerbic Alternative Oscars section. Dedicated film site Popcorn.co.uk also has its Oscars 2000 coverage wrapped up. There's quizzes, games, a chance to bet on the winners, and best of all, the Look Who's Talking section outlining some of the best and some of the most gut-wrenchingly vomit-inducing Oscar acceptance speeches ever. Once again, BBC News do things as well as ever. Their Oscars 2000 feature has plenty of news to keep you up to date with what's going on, special articles, profiles, questions and an interactive vote. Finally, in a blatant example of shameless self-promotion, we nominate Yahoo! UK & Ireland's Oscars Pick 'Em. If anything it deserves an award for not using Oscars 2000 in its title, and like the name suggests, you simply attempt to pick the winners, and it's all just for fun.
