Yahoo! Classifieds Listings Partner Instructions Welcome to Yahoo! Classifieds. These pages are designed to ensure that classifieds partners get the most out of distributing their ads on Yahoo! Classifieds. Please follow the instructions outlined on this page and the following pages if you are interested in becoming a Yahoo! Classifieds Listings Partner. Please note - at present we can only incorporate ads from partners with more than 1000 listings per week. We do not currently support advertising from individual advertisers, nor do we accept jobs by email. Step 1: Review Submission Requirements and Specifications: We accept data in a format called "Comma Separated" or "Comma Delimited." Each advertisement is called a "record", and each piece of information in that record is called a "field.". A typical data file contains multiple records, each containing multiple fields as defined by our specifications (see below). By using FTP (file transfer protocol), our partners are able to add, update, and delete listings from Yahoo! Classifieds. Currently, we support the the following categories and batch feed specifications - please review the specification for your category: Cars Employment Property Sales Property Rentals Vacation Property Rentals As you prepare your data, please ensure that you follow these simple rules: Your data file is named data.txt and is a "total replacement". All listings that are included in this file will completely replace all previous listings. In each record, all fields must be separated from each other by commas. All fields must be enclosed in double quotes (e.g. ,"great location",). If there are double quotes inside of a field, replace them with single quotes (e.g. ,"must be a 'hard worker' and outgoing",). If you choose to leave a field blank, do not remove the "extra" comma. Leave it there as a placeholder. Each record should be separated from the next by carriage returns. Tips on How to Prepare Ads Using a Spreadsheet Program: Use a new row for each separate record. Please ensure that your last column contains some data for each ad. If you don't have data for that field, please enter a space (" ") instead. When you have finished entering all of your information, select the cells in the table and then choose File/Print Area/Set Print Area. Save the file by choosing File/Save As, change the format to "comma separated" or "CSV", and name the file data.txt. Step 2: Contact Us! If you have over 1000 listings, on a regular basis and think you can send us your listings according to the instructions above, send us your details. Note that we do not accept jobs by email. After reviewing your information, we will contact you to give you details on submitting a test feed to us for our evaluation. If you have a car to list, please use Yahoo!
