LONDON July 4, 2006: Yahoo! UK and Ireland this week changed its home page on yahoo.co.uk and across Europe - its biggest re-design in the company's history.

The new homepage delivers a greater focus on search, content, community and personalisation which, in turn, will offer increased interactivity for the consumer and a more appealing offering for advertisers. Putting consumers at the centre of their Web experience, the new homepage lets them get things done quickly, communicate with friends easily and stay up-to-date on the latest news, trends and buzz about what's going on in the world.

The redesign, which will include frequent updates throughout the day, has been created to encourage users to spend more time with Yahoo!. Coupled with a permanent ad placement offering, advertisers are able to provide a more integrated and interactive experience.

Another core advertiser benefit of the re-design is the ability to buy a spot within Market Place (Yahoo! Cars, Yahoo! Travel and Yahoo! Shopping). This spot will provide an image and direct, contextually-relevant link designed to drive users through to the advertiser's website.

With daily average pageviews already showing growth of 41% year-on-year (Nielsen//NetRatings, May 2006, UK), the redesign will further capitalise on this impressive growth.

The new homepage offers users enhanced navigation and interactivity that incorporates new products such as Yahoo! Answers. Yahoo! Mail and Messenger users can also now access their inbox and IM friends direct from the homepage.
