BT AND YAHOO! WIDEN THE NET FOR DIAL-UP USERS

As of today, dial-up internet users can experience the internet 'the way it was meant to be', with the launch of BT Yahoo! Anytime and BT Yahoo!

Pay-as-you-go. BT and Yahoo! have joined forces to create the best of the internet all in one place, for all types of internet users.
BT Yahoo! Internet services now includes both BT Openworld's consumer dial-up and broadband internet services*. BT Yahoo! Internet offers a completely integrated, personalised online experience for consumers, for the same price as the existing BT Openworld consumer offerings.

These services will include a personalised homepage for up to eleven users per account (five for PAYG customers), plus advanced security services including anti-spam and email virus protection, market leading parental controls, a pop-up blocker, a PC firewall and enhanced communication features.

As of today, existing BT Openworld Anytime, Surftime, and PAYG customers can now upgrade for free to the new service. BT Yahoo! Broadband was launched in September 2003.

The announcement also marks the second phase of the £10 million advertising campaign to promote BT Yahoo! Internet services. Three new TV advertisements will break on Friday, November 21, featuring the voice of 'Men Behaving Badly' star, Caroline Quentin, with a fourth scheduled for early next year. Continuing to feature Jimmy and Mikey, the two fictional characters from the BT Yahoo! Broadband adverts, they aim to highlight the added value offered to consumers by the new services. Radio adverts will also run from January 2004.

New customers can sign up by registering at www.btyahoo.com or calling 0800 800 801. BT Yahoo! Internet consolidates BT Openworld's position as a leading UK ISP by offering customers one of the best value packages for a service of this kind.

Duncan Ingram, managing director of BT Openworld said: "The launch of BT Yahoo! Broadband was our first step in redefining the internet landscape. Demand has been high, and we're now excited to be able to bring this service to our dial-up customers. With BT Yahoo! Internet, we're delivering an unparalleled level of integration, personalisation and compelling content to all our customers. We are setting the standard in the ISP marketplace."

Mark Opzoomer, managing director and regional vice-president of Yahoo! Europe, said: "Dial-up users are a key part of the internet demographic, and with this launch we're addressing their needs to create an unrivalled internet offering in the UK."
