YAHOO! UK & IRELAND SALES TEAM BOLSTERED TO REFLECT BUOYANT MARKET

Yahoo! UK and Ireland today completed an expansion and restructure of its sales team in a positive move reflecting a drive to be the UK's leading online advertising medium.

The changes reflect Yahoo! Marketing Services' ongoing strategy and are designed to bolster relations with media buying and planning agencies as well as focus on client relationships in key vertical sectors. Combining two external hires with a number of promotions and newly created roles internally, Yahoo! is strengthening its overall sales team, headed by UK Sales Director Alison Reay, that comprises four main divisions:
- Agency Sales
- Business Development and Client Sales
- Sales Operations
- Planning & Strategy

"This growth of the sales team is now essential as online revenue continues to grow and demand increases for creative online branding solutions. The expansion confirms Yahoo!'s commitment to being the leading internet sales company in the UK. We are looking to further grow our online share, encourage offline advertisers onto the internet and deliver an unrivalled customer service," said Alison Reay, Sales Director of Yahoo! UK & Ireland. "Our recent deals with BT, McDonalds and Nissan have shown that the internet is attracting big traditional advertisers and is establishing itself as a mainstream branding, as well as direct response, medium. This experienced new sales team allows us to further drive sales on the internet and firmly establish online as the sixth medium."

The changes affect the Agency Sales, Business Development, Client Services and Planning & Strategy Divisions:

Agency Sales
Joanne Kilshaw, who joins from the BBC Radio Times, has been appointed as account manager for Agency Sales continuing Yahoo!'s strategy of working more closely with mainstream agencies to acquire a greater share of offline budgets. Joanne has over six years experience in sales in the media industry spanning both national press with The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian and mainstream consumer with BBC Radio Times. Additional appointments in this division are to be made in the coming months.

Business Development and Client Sales
This newly formed division will be led by Laurence Krieger, Head of Business Development and Client Sales. Krieger, previously business development manager, will focus on securing and maintaining integrated client partnerships, as well as driving advertising sales. The team will work in conjunction with the agency sales team to promote the opportunities and benefits of online to specific industry sectors directly, such as automotive, finance and telcos. Krieger will report into Nick Fawbert, head of sales. Additional appointments are to be in the client sales team with the recruitment of further sector category experts.

Sales Operations
Seamus Hunn, previously head of Client Services takes over responsibility for UK Sales Operations, a role which reports directly into Nick Fawbert. His teams will include ad operations and client services and will be responsible for campaign management and delivery, with the ultimate aim of further enhanced client service.

Planning & Strategy
Teresa Pereira has been promoted to the new role of Sales Planning and Trade Relations Manager, reporting directly into Head of Planning and Strategy, Phil MacAuley. Fiona Khondoker has also joined this division as a Strategy Planner. Previously at Universal McCann-Eriksson, where she was an International Research and Strategy Executive, she will be responsible for working with the sales team for pitches and presentations and her appointment reflects Yahoo!'s growing relationships with the mainstream agencies and a concerted push to create more creative and groundbreaking advertising campaigns for its clients.
