Yahoo! UK & Ireland widens UK sales net
Yahoo! UK & Ireland today announces an agreement with Manchester and Scotland based sales house Media-Link. Under the terms of the deal, Media-Link will act as an on-the-ground extension to Yahoo!'s London-based sales team, developing new business opportunities and supporting existing Yahoo! UK & Ireland's clients by establishing a regional service proposition.
Alison Reay, Sales Director at Yahoo! UK & Ireland, explained why the move into Manchester is central to the company's long-term plans. "The online advertising market is in a period of growth and this agreement is part of our aggressive strategy to maximise this," said Reay. "To implement this growth we are determined to claim a larger share of offline activity, especially with our highly successful track record of targeting a core ABC1 audience with innovative, integrated branded campaigns. We are committed to growing the internet's share of the market and this focus on regional sales will contribute to achieving this."
Yahoo! UK & Ireland's investment demonstrates the company's commitment to delivering the best possible service to its advertisers - wherever they are. Having an on-the-ground team in the North and Scotland will enable Yahoo! UK & Ireland to work more closely with its customers and ensure the kind of interaction and integration that delivers the best possible campaigns online.
"Our decision to work with Media-Link was an easy one. Not only because of their experience in selling new media in the region, but also we know their team is committed to growing online's share within the advertising sector," added Reay.
This announcement is yet another example of how Manchester is seen as a hub for businesses expanding into the North of England and beyond. Media-Link Managing Director, Tim Reid says: "It's testament to Yahoo!'s vision that it has recognised the value of using a sales house to represent them in the North and Scotland. These areas offer a huge range of opportunities for the brand, but we will also be in a position to service clients effectively to ensure maximum campaign success. "
Media-Link was set up to meet the growing need of media owners, like Yahoo!, who needed to talk to advertisers and its agencies based in Scotland and the North of England.
