THE UK'S LARGEST IFA & THE WORLD'S LEADING INTERNET DESTINATION LINK UP IN NEW DEAL

The MarketPlace at Bradford & Bingley, the UK's largest mortgage broker, and Yahoo! UK & Ireland, part of Yahoo!, the world's number one internet destination, have announced a new online mortgage service. The service, which will be provided by The MarketPlace, is now available to all web users visiting the Yahoo! UK & Ireland sites.

The new service, which will be co-branded, will take the form of a fully integrated mortgage centre on the Yahoo! UK & Ireland Personal Finance site. As with The MarketPlace's own web site, consumers have access to an extensive range of market-leading mortgage deals coupled with tools, such as a mortgage calculator and best buys table, to help them decide what's best for their needs. Borrowers then have the choice of applying online or using the Yahoo! service to arrange an appointment with a MarketPlace adviser local to them, if they feel they would like further advice before committing to a particular product.

Commenting on the deal, Dominic Barton, Bradford & Bingley's Group Business Development Director, said: "I am delighted to be able to announce our new tie-up with Yahoo! providing a fully integrated mortgage service to its millions of users. As the UK's largest independent financial adviser and trusted online mortgage broker brand, we are well placed to meet the needs of borrowers looking for a great value for money deal, whether they want to transact online or face-to-face.

"Yahoo! UK & Ireland and The MarketPlace are both dominant players in their respective fields and so a link-up really was the natural choice. The result is a first class mortgage proposition available to millions of online users across the country."

Fru Hazlitt, managing director of Yahoo! UK & Ireland, added: "We strive to deliver the best of the web to our 14.8 million unique users and teaming up with a recognised finance market leader proves our continual commitment to this. Together with The MarketPlace, we will offer our personal finance site's core ABC1 audience leading financial advice and mortgage services. As always our mission is to serve the best possible content so that our users can make their own, informed choice."

The online mortgage service is designed to help all types of customers. Those that are financially confident can transact online and those that would benefit from some further advice can use the Yahoo! service to make an appointment with a local MarketPlace adviser. The site also contains a list of frequently asked questions to aid borrowers further and a 'call me' facility, should they need any technical help.

People wishing to find out more can access the site by logging onto www.yahoo.co.uk/personalfinance and clicking onto the mortgage centre link.
