Yahoo! UK & Ireland is a Web guide designed to deliver the richness of the Yahoo! database from a uniquely British & Irish perspective. Throughout Yahoo! UK & Ireland you will find immediate access to national content, as well as a broad base of general interest content.

How is Yahoo! UK & Ireland different from Yahoo! ?

If you are familar with the original Yahoo! Web guide (http://www.yahoo.com), you probably know that Yahoo! categorises hundreds of thousands of Web sites from around the world that cover a broad range of subject matter.

Our goal with Yahoo! UK & Ireland is to provide the broadest guide to national content on the Web without giving up any of the benefits of the rich, main Yahoo! database of links.

We have achieved this goal by doing the following....

UK, Irish and Worldwide Content Available on all Category Pages. On every category page within Yahoo! UK & Ireland, the user has the option of exploring either UK, Irish, or Worldwide links and categories, where appropriate.
Search Results. We have rewritten our search engine so that UK & Irish sites and categories appear above Worldwide links on all search results pages.
News Headlines. We are bringing in a live UK and Irish newsfeed from Reuters.
Faster Access.The latest IBM server technology is supporting Yahoo! UK & Ireland's service for the fastest possible access for British and Irish users.
